I used to watch Fat Albert as a kid in the 70s (I&#039;m a white woman, too) and though I see what you mean about stereotypes now, I never thought of the show as stereotyping black kids. They were just a bunch of kids. There was a fat kid and a kid who mumbled into his hat, and they met the Harlem Globetrotters (how cool was that?!)  

I seriously didn&#039;t think of stereotypes as a child watching this. I loved Fat Albert because it was about kids in a city. I lived in a suburb and they seemed to have more fun than I did. :)]]></description>
